Boiling, Chilled and Sparkling Drinking Water Tap in Saudi Arabia: Which RoyalFlow Model?

How to pick a RoyalFlow boiling, chilled and sparkling water tap for a Saudi office pantry or family villa, with datasheet figures and an install checklist.

Offices across Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam still run on a kettle, a bottled water cooler and a fridge full of soft drinks. A drinking water tap that pours boiling, chilled and sparkling water can take the place of all three. RoyalFlow makes several versions, and picking the right one depends on who drinks what, how busy the pantry gets and what sits under the counter. This guide walks through the range for Saudi workplaces and villas.

TL;DR

  • Commercial RoyalFlow taps are the BCS, BC, BA, CA and CSA. The home taps are the C2 and C4.
  • The letters spell out the waters: B boiling, C chilled, S sparkling, A ambient.
  • A busy office pantry that wants tea, cold water and fizz usually suits the BCS.
  • Leaving out boiling water (CA, CSA) cuts the electrical load to 0.5 kW.
  • A Saudi kitchen is often warm, so give the chiller unit room to breathe.
  • Our site survey is chargeable and checks the feed, power and cupboard first.

Reading the model names

Each commercial RoyalFlow name is a short code for the waters it serves. B means boiling. C means chilled. S means sparkling. A means ambient, which is filtered water at room temperature.

That makes the range easy to scan. A BC serves boiling and chilled. A CSA serves chilled, sparkling and ambient. You can see all of them on our RoyalFlow drinking water tap page.

The commercial taps work with an under-sink unit and a single dedicated tap, so your existing sink tap stays where it is. The home taps are different: they replace the main kitchen tap and also mix ordinary hot and cold.

Which tap for a Saudi office pantry?

Hospitality matters in Saudi workplaces. Tea and coffee go out to visitors through the day, and staff want something cold after the commute in summer. A tap that serves boiling water and cold water from one spout keeps the pantry quick and tidy.

If you also want sparkling water, start with the RoyalFlow BCS Smart Tap. The manufacturer rates its 3 litre boiling tank at about 125 cups an hour and its 2.5 litre chilled tank at about 100 cups an hour. Sparkling water comes from the chilled side. The under-sink unit is 230 × 435 × 395 mm, so measure the cupboard early.

Not every site needs all three waters:

  • A pantry that mainly makes tea and Arabic coffee, with a glass of water on the side, may suit the BA (boiling and ambient, no chiller).
  • A clinic, gym or reception that never needs boiling water may suit the CA (chilled and ambient) or the CSA, which adds sparkling.
  • A team that wants hot and cold but no fizz can skip the CO2 with the BC.

Two spout shapes are offered on the commercial taps: a curved swan neck (C1) and a square neck (S1).

For the case for taps over kettles, read our boiling water tap vs kettle guide for Saudi offices. For sparkling, see sparkling water in the office in Saudi Arabia.

The five commercial models compared

All figures below are from the RoyalFlow datasheets.

ModelWhat it poursHot sideCold sidePower
BCSBoiling, chilled, sparkling3 L tank2.5 L tank1.5 kW
BCBoiling, chilled3 L tank2.5 L tank1.5 kW
BABoiling, ambient3 L tankDirect ambient1 kW
CAChilled, ambientNone2.5 L tank0.5 kW
CSAChilled, sparkling, ambientNone2.5 L tank0.5 kW

The heater is where most of the power goes. So if nobody on site needs boiling water, the CA or CSA halves the load compared with the BA and uses a third of the BCS. The two sparkling models use a CO2 cylinder, which you will need to replace from time to time. Agree who supplies it before you sign.

Villas and family homes: C2 and C4

The C2 and C4 are made for homes, not workplaces.

The RoyalFlow C2 replaces the kitchen tap. It pours boiling, chilled, sparkling and ambient drinking water, and it still runs your normal hot and cold. Per its datasheet, the boiling tank holds 2 litres (about 75 cups an hour) and the chilled and sparkling tanks hold 1.5 litres (about 50 cups an hour). The hot side draws 0.7 kW and the cold side 0.3 kW.

The C4 shares those tanks but has a C-shaped spout and a rotating control with coloured lights. Its datasheet says it suits households of up to 8 people, which fits many Saudi family homes. For children's safety, boiling water is locked: the control blinks red, and you must turn it again within 3 seconds before hot water flows. The worktop hole needs to be 32 to 35 mm.

Heat, water supply and filtration in the Kingdom

Two local factors shape how a tap performs here.

The first is heat. The chiller has to push warmth out of the cupboard. In a hot pantry or a closed cabinet, it works harder. Leave air space around the under-sink unit, as the installation guide asks, and avoid boxing it in next to an oven or dishwasher.

The second is the water itself. A KAUST review of drinking water quality in the Kingdom says about half of drinking water comes from desalination, and found desalinated water from the Saudi Water Authority was generally of high quality between 2020 and 2022. Water can still pick up sediment or taste from building tanks and pipes on its way to the pantry. That is why every RoyalFlow datasheet says the tap can be paired with a Sovereign treatment system, sold separately. Filtering before the tap also helps protect the boiler from scale. If scale is already a problem in your building, read our guide to hard water in Saudi Arabia.

We do not test water. We choose the filtration to suit the supply and how much water the site uses.

Site checklist for your facilities team

The RoyalFlow connection document lists what the installer needs:

  1. An 8 mm drinking-water feed taken from the cold supply
  2. An isolation valve on that feed, easy to reach
  3. A switched, fused power outlet inside the cupboard
  4. A drain, where the model calls for one
  5. Space for the under-sink unit, with air around it, plus room for the CO2 cylinder on the BCS and CSA

The outlet pipe is C-type or U-type, and it must not be turned more than 180 degrees.

When you compare quotes, add up the full cost: the tap, installation, filters, CO2 and servicing, plus VAT. The standard VAT rate in the Kingdom is 15%, and ZATCA publishes the tax rules. For running costs, see how much a water cooler costs to run in Saudi Arabia.

Our Comprehensive Maintenance plan can cover filter changes and servicing on fixed dates. Our site survey is chargeable, and it confirms the feed, power and cupboard before anything is ordered.

FAQs

What is the best drinking water tap for an office in Saudi Arabia?

For a shared pantry that wants boiling, chilled and sparkling water, the RoyalFlow BCS. If you do not need fizz, the BC. If you only make hot drinks and serve room-temperature water, the BA.

Can a RoyalFlow tap cope with a hot kitchen?

The chiller needs ventilation to work well. Leave air space around the under-sink unit and keep it away from ovens and dishwashers.

Do I need a filter if my building gets desalinated water?

A filter at the point of use deals with what water can pick up from building tanks and pipes, and it helps protect the boiler from scale. Every RoyalFlow can be paired with a Sovereign treatment system.

Are the C2 and C4 suitable for an office?

No. They are home taps. For a workplace, pick the BCS, BC, BA, CA or CSA.

Does the sparkling tap need gas?

Yes. The BCS and CSA use a CO2 cylinder, which is a regular consumable.
