Water in Saudi Arabia can travel a long way before it is used. Riyadh's desalinated share is piped about 450 to 470 km from the Gulf coast, and in many buildings it then sits in a roof tank through the hot months.
The SW24 fits on the outlet side of that tank. It handles up to 5.4 m³ an hour, which covers a large villa or a small hotel, and its lamp is rated for about 9,000 hours, so it is changed once a year.
Common questions
Does the SW24 suit a compound with several villas?
One unit can serve a building up to 5.4 m³ an hour. For a compound we usually fit one per block or tank, sized to the peak demand.
What pre-treatment does it need?
A mechanical filter in front is required. On groundwater blends, a softener may also go ahead of it to keep scale off the quartz sleeve.
Does it use much power?
No. It draws 85 W on a 230 V supply, and the lamp runs around 9,000 hours before it needs changing.
Supplied, installed and serviced in Saudi Arabia
Saudi supply is a mix of desalinated water and groundwater. Where groundwater is blended in, as in Riyadh, the water can be hard enough to scale heaters and machines, so we check your supply before choosing a system.
